Latest Update: We have compared the claimed fuel efficiency figure of the Maruti Grand Vitara CNG with that of the Brezza CNG.

Price: Maruti’s compact SUV is priced from Rs 10.70 lakh to Rs 19.79 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Variants: It is available in six trims: Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Zeta+, Alpha and Alpha+. The plus (+) trims are available with the strong-hybrid powertrain option. The manual variants of the Delta and Zeta trims are now available with a factory-fitted CNG option.

Colours: Maruti offers it in six monotones and three dual-tone shades: Nexa Blue, Opulent Red, Chestnut Brown, Grandeur Grey, Splendid Silver, Arctic White, Pearl Midnight Black, Opulent Red with Midnight Black roof, Arctic with Midnight Black roof and Splendid Silver with Midnight Black roof.

Seating Capacity: The compact SUV can seat up to five people.

Engines And Transmission: It uses the same powertrain options as the Toyota Hyryder: a 1.5-litre petrol mild-hybrid unit and a 1.5-litre petrol strong-hybrid unit producing 103PS and 116PS, respectively. The latter has self-charging technology as well as three driving modes: petrol, hybrid, and pure EV.

The CNG variants get the same 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol unit, but with a reduced output of 87.83PS/121.5Nm. They are only offered with a five-speed manual.

The mild-hybrid unit is paired with a five-speed manual or an optional six-speed automatic transmission, and the strong-hybrid is only offered with an e-CVT. All-wheel drive is only offered on the top-spec mild-hybrid variant.

Features: It comes equipped with a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital driver display, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, a wireless phone charger, ventilated front seats and a heads-up display.

Safety: It gets up to six airbags, an electronic stability program (ESP), ABS with EBD, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). Further, it also gets a 360-degree camera, hill-descent control and ISOFIX child-seat anchors.

Rivals: Maruti Grand Vitara locks horns with the Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, Toyota Hyryder and Citroen C3 Aircross. The Mahindra Scorpio Classic can also be considered a rugged alternative.
